IRM Director Tamara Dzhusubalieva: “We stand at the origins of the introduction of ART in Kazakhstan, and the fact that it was the babies of the IVF Center patient who turned out to be anniversary ones became a big surprise for us and a reason for pride, especially on the eve of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the institute. In addition, this is an indicator of our work, long work and efforts of the entire team! A third of state quota programs are carried out within the walls of our clinic. We helped the first IVF child to be born in Kazakhstan. It is very symbolic that the 10 thousandth were born with the help of our specialists.”
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan actively supports the policy of improving the demographic situation in the country. For these purposes, since 2010, grants have been funded for the treatment of citizens suffering from infertility. In 2015, 750 quota programs were allocated, increasing 7 times over 5 years. Thanks to government programs alone, more than 600 children were born into families with infertility. About 500 million tenge are allocated annually from the budget for these purposes.
According to Ministry statistics, 15-18% of married couples face the problem of having children.
Maral Sarbalina: “We go to thank the IVF Center for the happiness of finally becoming a mother and father! Say thank you to the clinic’s specialists for their professionalism and for the work to which they dedicated themselves. It's nice that we turned out to be an anniversary couple in Kazakhstan. We wish everyone who is undergoing infertility treatment not to lose faith, because you are in good hands.”
Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) came to our country exactly 20 years ago. In 1995, the first IVF laboratory was opened at the City Center for Human Reproduction (now the IVF Center department in the IRM). After which, on July 31, 1996, the country's first test-tube baby was born.
By 2015, there were about 18 IVF clinics operating in Kazakhstan.
