44 years ago, on July 25, 1978, the world's first child conceived through IVF, Louise Brown, was born. This was a real breakthrough in world medical practice and brought embryologist Robert Edwards the Nobel Prize.
Louise Brown's mother, Leslie, could not get pregnant for nine years. According to Leslie Brown, she wanted to have a child so much that she was ready to do anything. And in 1976 I went to participate in experiments with IVF.
Several women participated in the experiment, but Brown became pregnant first. On July 25, 1978, she gave birth to a daughter, Louise, the world's first test-tube baby. Then she did IVF again and gave birth to her second daughter, Natalie. The Brown family now has five grandchildren. Louise Brown gave birth to 2 boys on her own without IVF!
In Kazakhstan, the first child after IVF was born in 1996 and our Alesya Shin is the first IVF girl who gave birth to a child without IVF!
Today is ART day and IVF specialists celebrate the creation of a new direction in the treatment of infertility.
Congratulations to all IVF specialists on ART Day! We also congratulate our mothers and their children on this wonderful event! We wish everyone good health, happiness and peaceful skies!
