Dear colleagues and patients!
On May 19, 2014, we began to use a new modern method of testicular and epididymal biopsy for non-obstructive azoospermia - Micro-TESE.
Micro-TESE (Microsurgery Testicular Sperm Extraction) is a high-tech operation using a ZEISS-OPMI VARIO operating microscope. The purpose of the operation is to obtain sperm from patients with azoospermia (lack of sperm in the ejaculate), in severe cases of the secretory form of male infertility. Micro-TESE is the most advanced method of surgically obtaining sperm.
The essence of the operation is that andrological surgeons perform a biopsy of testicular tissue selectively: under the control of an operating microscope, they determine the most promising areas in which sperm maturation is possible. The embryologist present at the operation simultaneously examines the biopsy material and reports the result to the surgeons for each sample obtained. Thus, the likelihood of detecting promising spermatozoa with Micro-TESE is significantly increased compared to a conventional testicular biopsy (standard TESE procedure), which does not use microscopic techniques.
The cost of Micro-TESE is 250,000 tenge.
